How to Play
Five-Second Answers is the ultimate quick-response game. The facilitator reads a prompt — 'Name three things you would take to a desert island' or 'Name three ice cream flavors' — and the player has exactly five seconds to give their answers. The ticking clock creates delightful panic, and the unfiltered responses are consistently hilarious. No time to overthink, no time to filter — just raw, authentic answers that reveal personality and spark laughter.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Select a player to go first. Use the Name Spinner if needed for random selection.
Click 'Start' to display the prompt and begin the 5-second countdown.
The player must give their answer before the timer reaches zero.
If they answer in time, they earn a point. If not, the group has a laugh and moves on.
Rotate to the next player and repeat. Play until everyone has had 2-3 turns.
The player with the most successful answers wins — but really, everyone wins with the laughs.
Tips for Hosts
Keep prompts light and fun. The goal is laughter, not pressure.
If a player freezes, let the group shout encouragement. The support is part of the fun.
For shy players, offer an easier prompt or let them pass without judgment.
Record particularly funny answers for team inside jokes.
Adjust the timer for your group. Younger players or larger groups might prefer 7-8 seconds.
Best Use Cases
Party games: The energy in the room doubles the moment the timer starts.
Meeting energizers: A single round with a volunteer wakes up a sleepy afternoon meeting.
