How to Play
Never Have I Ever is a classic social game that reveals unexpected things about people. One player makes a statement starting with 'Never have I ever...' followed by something they have never done. Anyone in the group who HAS done that thing must acknowledge it — traditionally by putting a finger down, taking a sip, or simply raising a hand. The game is excellent for breaking down barriers and discovering shared experiences, but it is important to keep prompts light, inclusive, and workplace-appropriate.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Gather the group and explain that all prompts should be safe and respectful.
Use the tool above to generate a random 'Never Have I Ever' prompt, or have a player create their own.
Read the prompt aloud. Anyone who HAS done that thing acknowledges it (raise hand, put finger down, etc.).
The person who generated the prompt learns something new about their group members.
Move to the next player or click 'Next Prompt' to continue.
Play until everyone has had a turn or the group runs out of time.
Tips for Hosts
Set ground rules: keep prompts workplace-appropriate and never pressure anyone to share details.
Model good prompts yourself — keep them light, funny, and inclusive.
If someone does not want to acknowledge a prompt, let them pass. Participation must be voluntary.
For virtual teams, have everyone hold up 5 fingers on camera and put one down for each match.
